When chaplain Jessie John boarded the container ship, the SANTA ROSE for a visit in December she didn’t know what a treat was in store.
She met Chef Liliya Romashkina from the Ukraine who offered her tea. No ordinary mug of tea, but no less than five exotic types of tea, all beautifully set out and served in a special tea set
Jessie said “ It was delightful and fascinating as Liliya explained what types of tea were served – she takes this set with her on voyages”.
It was a lovely experience and most unexpected to see that on board, there is time for such fine detail.
The Chef cooked Christmas dinner on board for the crew. After Christmas she was going home to the Ukraine.
Before Jessie left, Chef Liliya was very happy to have received a small gift from the Sailors Society.
