Sailors’ Society SA continues virtual seafarer support in response to lockdown.

In response to the article in The Guardian of 14 May 2020, “Deaths and hunger strikes point to mental health crises on stranded cruise ships”  Sailors Society SA has stepped up its virtual support which the organisation has been offering since the lockdown situation. Helpline cases Triple as Seafarers Seek Help during COVID-19 Pandemic

International 24-hour helpline SeafarerHelp, operated by the International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN), has experienced a surge in demand as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic affects seafarers worldwide.
